The Customs Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day customs-related inquiries and help us to deliver reliable information on time to internal and external parties. In this role, you are expected to understand the logistics process and more in-depth customs process and administration so that you know where to search for information and act in the best way possible.

As teamwork is in our DNA, your daily work is never lonely! You will partner with other ViaEurope departments and external authorities on multiple customs inquiries, and also on improving departmental efficiencies to help meet company goals. Accurate communication and speed without compromising on quality will make you an excellent team member.

Responsibilities:

• Take care of all customs clearance and customs control matters
• Provide accurate and efficient support service to internal and external contacts
• Check and answer inquiries about customs matters
• Scan data and ensure that all your incidents and inspection are recorded correctly in our system
• Take care of all additional involved administration work
• Establish and maintain overall positive business and customer relationships

• Working and thinking at a level of MBO-plus/ HBO level
• Gained a professional certificate declarant
• Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience as customs declarant
• Good communication skills both oral and written
• Service attitude towards team and customers
• Problem solving, stress-resistant, and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness for training and further education
• Experience with customs software & general software such as MS-Office
• Good command of Dutch and English language in word and writing – you will work daily in both languages
